Animal welfare organizations do lifesaving work, often with little funding, staffing and other resources needed to assist animals in need. There is a dearth of funding in the foundation and corporate space for animal welfare groups, particularly local shelters and rescues where every dollar goes directly toward animal care and welfare. PAW endeavors to fill the gap in funding and services necessary for the advancement of animal welfare in New Jersey and beyond.
PAW’s leaders include advocates who have worked to advance the welfare of animals as employees and/or volunteers of animal welfare organizations including Mercy for Animals, the Animal Legal Defense Fund, the Humane Society of the United States, the Montclair Township Animal Shelter and the East Orange Animal Alliance, to name just a few. Their experience in the field of animal welfare led to the founding of PAW to direct funds to those who need it, create programming where there is none, and further advance and promote animal welfare in general. |
