2023 - 2024 COMMITTEES
Marketing and Communications Develop and maintain marketing materials for all aspects of PAW’s work
Builds awareness for the organization in the community
Develops and maintains the PAW website
Maintains social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube
Creates and publishes a monthly electronic newsletter
Takes pictures and create videos for use in internal and external communications
Fundraising/Resource Development
Chair: Jul Calabrese
Secures grants and individual and corporate giving to carry out mission of PAW
Manages donor relationships and works with marketing and events committees to ensure donors/sponsors receive benefits promised
Finance
Discusses and evaluates financial health of nonprofits that submit proposals focusing on the viability of the nonprofit
Identifies financial questions/issues for the grant review committees
Emergency Grants
Chair: Karen Moreira
Manages the Emergency Grants application and grant awarding and process
Establishws criteria for evaluating grant applications
Screens all applications for eligibility
Reviews all grant requests
Makes recommendations to ED to approve/deny grant requests
Works with Treasurer to award funds
Education
Chair: Stacey Bussel
Provides information about current community issues and challenges to support effective charitable giving
Plans and presents zoom and live educational events on animal welfare topics/animal welfare organizations
Creates and maintains a website resource list
Prepares newsletter articles on relevant topics
Events
Organizes, in partnership with education committee, fundraising committee and other committees, education, fundraising, networking and social events
Identifies and secures meeting venue, food, technological needs
Coordinates the event program with other committees
Sets up and cleans up the facility the day of the event
Technology
Oversees the planning, research, implementation, and support of technologies and tools that facilitate the objectives and operations of PAW
Researches and implements tools to support various Committee efforts, e.g., event RSVPs, website, event registration, grant submissions.
Expands the use of PAW’s capabilities
Equity and Inclusion
Chair: Elissa Frank
Designs and oversees active recruitment efforts and address programmatic obstacles for underrepresented groups with the goal of increasing the number of individuals from diverse backgrounds involved with PAW and in animal welfare in general
Leads advocacy efforts for diversity, equity, and inclusion and work to enhance cultural competence, support anti-racism efforts, and seek to create an overall more inclusive culture within the organization and beyond
NextGen
Chair: Daniela Dreifach
Recruits younger people to PAW through community outreach, cultivation, and events
Supports the engagement of younger members through a program of enriching and vibrant opportunities and activities
Raises awareness within the membership about the need for age diversity
